How to pay Yaka using Airtel money
- Dial *185#, call.
- Reply with 4 (Pay bill), press send / ok.
- Reply with 1 (Umeme touch pay), press send / ok.
- Reply with 2 (Buy yaka), press send / ok.
- Enter Yaka meter number, press send / ok.
- Enter Amount to pay, press send / ok
- Enter Airtel money pin, press send / ok
You will get a notification upon successful completion of the transaction and a “yaka token” will be sent to you using text on your phone.
How to know my yaka meter number
Umeme ICU number aka Yaka meter number is that unique number allocated and given to every Umeme client who is connected on the digital power system other than the analog or monthly billing meters.
With this ICU number, a customer is able to buy yaka tokens which can then be loaded onto the meter and have access to electricity once again.

How to retrieve token message
If you accidentally deleted your token message, you don’t need to worry since you are able to retrieve the message by using the Umeme app mobile which you can download from Google play store for free.

See past tokens on the umeme mobile app.
- Launch app
- Tap yaka tokens
- Enter meter number
- Tap next.
All of your current and previous Yaka tokens will be displayed. Alternatively, you can call umeme toll-free number 0800 285285 and ask the customer care representative to retrieve your tokens.
