Wondering whether that email message you received about PCH – Publishers Clearing House is legitimate or a scam? Here are things you need to know in order to identify a legit and scam winner’s notification message from Publishers Clearing House.
A few days back, I stumbled upon this post “Publishers Clearing House scam season has begun” by Thedenverchannel.com as I searched for something else related to scams. After carefully reading the post, I took brief notes about the “warning signs of scam”.
Little did I know that t I was among the many that were being targeted by scammers. After a few days, I received an email message in my Gmail spam folder and I was very surprised.

After reading the content of the email, and of course the Red notice by Google “Be careful with this message. Similar messages were used to steal people’s personal information. Unless you trust the sender, don’t click links or reply with personal information. Learn More”, I was like it’s over.
It’s at this time I remembered my warning signs of scam I had a screenshot from Thedenverchannel.com that included
- It will never call to say you are a winner (major winners get a visit from the Prize Patrol)
- It will never ask you to pay taxes or legal fees upfront
- It will never send you a check and ask you to send back some of the money
I also checked Pch.com and found out that this email was not legit but a scam.
If you are one of those recipients of the above scam message from the fake Publishers Clearing House email address [email protected] with Reply-To email [email protected], just note this isn’t real.
How Does Publishers Clearing House Notify Winners?
They will reach out to you via their official ways including getting a visit from Prize Patrol. Additionally, they never send mass emails like how the scammers do. The winner’s list is published and visible to all.
