Domain Abuse Notice From [email protected] – Yourdomain.Com Is Being Used For Spamming And Spreading Malware Recently…….

Scam

If you are a domain name owner, webmaster or even an agent offering such services to your clients, you must have already received a “domain name abuse notice faking to be from ICANN, and using email address [email protected]”. While it’s true that ICANN does handle domain names and related use, the one thing I know is that they too use the registra in addition to other ways to let the owner know of their service abuse.

In this supposedly “fake” email sent by “[email protected]”, it is indicated that the domain name has “yourdomain.com’ is involved in “unlawful” acts. And it is advised that one downloads the “abuse report of your domain along with date/time of incidents” by simply clicking on the link provided. This indeed made me wonder who was ‘fool**g” who since the same message contains a way on how to remove the blacklist and simply the link redirecting to one Word Doc.

When I took time to cross check on the who is details of “icann-monitor.org”, I was amazed that this had just been registered just a day and wonder how and where they got data that I was misusing my website. May be it is them who are misusing theirs to an extent that they can’t show their exact data as you can see in the screenshot below.

Now read below this message and see if it is the very one you received. Yes, many people out there including me go this scaring message when we first opened it. But if you are reading this, then know it that this is a “scam’ message sent from non genuine people with intention to steal personal data. Just like you are asked to click their link attached onto the message, chances are that you will download trojans, malware and other software which will steal your personal data.
